UGC NET Syllabus 2020 (Updated): Paper 1 and Paper 2
NTA UGC NET Syllabus 2020 (Updated): The University Grant Commission (UGC) has revised the syllabus of all subjects (including Paper 1) for June 2019 onwards. The new syllabus has been prepared according to the new and updated pattern of UGC NET exam. The new pattern of UGC NET exam is based on a computer (CBT) along with some other changes.
National Testing Agency (NTA) has been established in 2017 to conduct entrance examinations for admission/fellowship in higher educational institutions. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has the responsibility to conduct JEE (Main), NEET – UG, Common Management Admission Test (CMAT), GRADUATE PHARMACY APTITUDE TEST GPAT and UGC NET.
Till July 2018, The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the UGC NET exams across the country. From December 2018, the UGC NET exam will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) according to the new pattern of UGC NET exam.

New Pattern of UGC NET Exam:
NTA UGC NET June 2020 exam will be held in one session without any gap as under:

Note: There is no gap between Paper 1 and Paper 2.
NTA UGC NET Syllabus Paper 1: shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. The Paper 1 shall consist of 50 (fifty) compulsory multiple choice questions and each question will carry 2 marks.
NTA UGC NET Syllabus Paper 2: shall consist of 100 objective type compulsory questions based on the subject selected by the candidate. Each question will carry 2 marks.
Note: There are no negative marks for an incorrect response. No marks will be given for unanswered/Marked for Review questions.

SCHEDULE OF UGC NET EXAM:
The Test will consist of TWO papers. Both papers will consist of only objective type questions. UGC NET exam will be held between 2nd December and 6th December 2019 in one session as under:

The minimum marks that a candidate needs to score in UGC NET to be considered for the award of JRF and eligibility for Assistant Professor in paper-I and paper-II is given below:
